On October 18, 2025, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) allowed current Special Temporary Authority (STA) for Portsonic Communications (Arizona) to begin testing KVGK 87.9 FM in Kingman, Arizona during the U.S. Government shutdown.

Magic 87.9 FM welcomes former Las Vegas Public Radio/PBS affiliate and KIOF local and international listeners after more than 3+ years out of the ashes and into the new radio station and internet streams beginning on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 12:00 AM as the Las Vegas Public Radio brand phase out and transition continues. Private contributions, foundation grants, corporate sponsorships, and other support to help with final transition activities of the former public radio broadcasting program will be accepted and made payable to Las Vegas Public Radio but are not tax deductible for the remaining of 2025 and throughout 2026 with final cleanup.
